1/23/2024 0 Comments Imovie editing tutorial machi everyone my name is Jillian and today I'm gonna be showing you a quick video on how to save your iMovie movie vertically without the black sidebars so let's go ahead and get started open up the iMovie app and then rotate your video vertically just for the sake of editing go ahead and do whatever you need to do and then right when you're about to save rotate the video back to horizontal so it's full screen then go to file share file again next and then save your movie to your desktop so it's easy to find in the right-hand corner that little tool will show you the status of your exported movie when it's done minimize iMovie and open up your new video in QuickTime when you open your movie in QuickTime it is going to be horizontal go to edit rotate left or right so that it flips vertically and then go to file close save and now your video should be saved vertically thank you so much for watching if you have any questions please post them in the comment section below and don't forget to subscribe.hey what's going on this is chip of web video chefs a friend of mine Sean asked me about getting rid of black bars in a video so you know we have a video where shot vertically so the first thing is you have those black background and that's really you know you don't like that doesn't look too too good so the first thing is to fix this in iMovie so I'm using iMovie version 10.2 that's 2013 so what I'm going to do instead of say this exercise video with this black bars around here I'm going to go on iMovie I'm going to go to maps and backgrounds and I'm going to choose industrial I like the industrial background and I'm just going to place that on the background and then what I'm going to do make the duration 16 seconds because that's how long my video is and there - 16 seconds and I'm going to go back to the black bar video and then I'm just going to hit actually I'm going to go back and I'm going to just drag it down over top of it so here it is right here but just.well I'm gonna do a quick tutorial video on how to make vertical videos on your iPhone using iMovie for Instagram TV or any other platform that uses vertical video open up iMovie hit the plus to start a new project click on movie for a new project find the video so I just did a quick video I just shot a quick video of my dogs basically just with this tutorial select it hit create movie and there's the video I'm not going to get in-depth on how to use iMovie as far as editing it's pretty simple I think it's you can kind of figure it out before you do any editing at all select the video that you're gonna want to edit then tap there it's pinch-to-zoom video and what you do is you just kind of squeeze your fingers together so right here you'll just squeeze your fingers together and there's the vertical video now if you want to edit anything it's pretty simple in iMovie select the video you can play it and if you want to if you want to if you want to cut and pause it select the video the bottoms to.
